PAUL FELCH: EASTPOINTE, MI
Paul is the BEST Bass singer in this group. A jolly fellow if you will… When not performing, golfing, fishing, building, fixing, or fixing something he built, he can be found writing, recording and producing his own songs. Originally born and raised in Detroit near the City Airport he has lived in countless communities around the U.S. and the world before he settled in Michigan and entered Oakwood Junior High School in Eastpointe (formerly known as East Detroit). His father was in the Army then Air Force, so being a world traveler from a young age, Paul needed to find ways of fitting into each new school he attended. Being funny and charming were his offerings, but just being built like a large truck helped do the trick.
Several sports, the skilled trades, industrial arts, and especially music were his life until finally attending college at Michigan State University where he met up with the guys and formed the group from within the MSU Men's Glee Club. Mimicking sounds and imitating singers was a hobby as a child and his mother warned him that “making all those noises” with his voice would never amount to anything. Each time he hands her another finished CD project they grin at each other.
Not discovering that he had real singing talent until attending MSU as a 26-year-old freshman while studying Business, then Telecommunications, he had taught himself several instruments since elementary school and has performed in and around the Detroit area on bass, percussion, keyboards and rhythm guitar. As a senior at East Detroit High School he was elected to the Michigan All-Star Jazz Band in 1981 on trombone/bass trombone. He is a classic “jack of all trades, master of none.”
Paul's musical influences include: Alabama, Huey Lewis and the News, Gordon Lighfoot, Joel Mabus, and The Eagles, Bob Seger, Chicago, Al Green, and Van Morrison.
